Our Story

Welcome to Min Ceramic's Cover-Up!

We have created the most functional and practical cover-ups so that you can focus on what you love to do without leaving mass or interruption in daily studio practice.

It started with Min, a potter and ceramic educator in New York City who realized a long time ago that she couldn't find a comfortable, well-fitted apron or smock to wear in the studio. Then she thought, since we all worked long and hard hours in the clay studio, the apron shouldn't be the least frustrating for an artist and maker!

So, she started taking sewing classes for a few years, made several designs, continuously wore them in the studio, and took notes from her students feed back about what they wished for.

  • Herring-Bone Pattern

Inspired by the herring-bone pattern found commonly on pottery from Korea's Neolithic Age, this is a unique pattern honoring Korean history.

  • Split-Leg Fit

This is a functional apron designed to move with you when you are behind a potter's wheel or sitting in a chair.

  • Adjustable Detachable Straps

The straps have a unique "X" buckle on the neck and waist that help prevent loose straps from falling on the splash pan or untying. No need to detangle them for laundry when they can come right off.

  • Pockets Galore

There are two big pockets deep enough for all your tools and phone and chest pockets for your pen and Sharpies. These pockets are designed for comfort and convenience all the time.

  • Towel Straps

Don't know where to put your towels? Not anymore. There are two designated straps above the larger pockets to hang towels and shammies.

  • Machine Washable

These aprons are stitched strong and machine washable for easy upkeep.
